Le Gamin Au Velo / The Kid With a Bike

Review by SAPeople

Director: Jean-Pierre et Luc Dardenne

Synopsis

Young Cyril (12) has only one plan and that is to find his father who had ‘temporarily’ left him in a children’s home. He meets a hairdresser named Samantha who allows him to stay with her at weekends. She loves him, but he doesn’t realise that this is the love he needs to bring him the calmness he’s been seeking.

Our Verdict

Wonderful. Even if you have to read the subtitles, this is a must-see. The directors have won the Palme d’Or in Cannes twice before, and they deliver another beautiful film with The Kid with a Bike.

Wonderlik.
